The Bible Players are a Torah Comedy team based in New York City that are teaching Jewish Values and sweeping the nation! The Bible Players use theater and improv to infuse comedy and laughs into tales from the Torah and beyond. Since founding The Bible Players in 2011, they have toured America from NY to Texas to California, bringing their unique show to thousands of people of all backgrounds and ages, from Pre-K through adults. They've performed in 30 states, and do over 100 programs a year, all while remaining good looking and humble.
Who We Are
Andrew Davies is a Facilitator, Jewish Educator, and Improv Teacher living in Philadelphia, PA with his wife Molly Wernick and tiny dog Ducky. Andrew received a BA from Brandeis University, has studied Improv comedy at The Magnet Theater, and has a certificate of Facilitation from Georgetown University. He was honored in 2018 with the Jewish Education Project's Young Pioneer Award.
His new project is CharacTours, an interactive theatrical walking tour where the past visits you. Currently there are four tours including Lower East Side, Harlem, Ellis Island, and New Amsterdam. So join the next CharacTour, meet the past, and have a blast!
Aaron Friedman, a stand-up comedian who performs for shuls and university Hillels, was recently named “Funniest Jew in New York” by The Jewish Week.
He is a graduate of List College (JTS/Columbia) and in 2018 earned a Masters in Jewish Education from the Davidson School (Jewish Theological Seminary). He is currently leading the B'nei Mitzvah program at The Brotherhood Synagogue in New York City.
Jacqueline Grabois is an actress who is originally from Miami, Florida and now lives in New York City. After studying Musical Theatre at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy she has gone on to star in plays, comedy web series, and TV shows. She recently appeared in this season of Master of None starring Aziz Ansari, and Maniac starring Emma Stone and Jonah Hill. She is delighted to be joining The Bible Players .
Alison is currently a Philadelphia-based actor, devisor, and teaching artist. She is a recent graduate from the University of the Arts where she received her BFA in Acting. She spent a semester at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center (NTI Fall 2018), and aims to focus on performance collaboration through joy and enthusiasm! Recent credits include: This Is On Record (Applied Mechanics) and Ready Steady Yeti Go (Azuka). She is so grateful and excited to be a part of the team!
Ash Fisher-Tannenbaum is an actor, director, artist, and teacher based in Philadelphia. A native to the Philly suburbs, Ash received their B.A. in Theatre from Temple University, and has been active and engaged in the Philadelphia theater scene.
Ash has been seen around town as an actor in the 1-Minute Play Festival, the Philadelphia Women's Theatre Festival (The Women in Shakespeare Project), and Philadelphia Young Playwrights New Voices and Paula Vogel Mentor's Festivals. This year, Ash is very excited to be joining the Bible Players Team!
Lee Cohen is a New York City based actor/singer, artist and History buff. Lee began performing at just 2 years old in the great state of Massachusetts, and has been forced to sing at every family gathering since! He holds a BFA in musical theatre from Montclair State University in New Jersey, and is a proud member of Actor’s equity association. Lee’s passion for playing “civil war” in his backyard as a child has grown into a profession which blends the magic of performance and the many lessons history has to offer.
As an avid traveler, and particular Italiphile, Lee can usually be found exploring cuisines, pieces of art and culture. He is devoted to bridging the gaps in humanity while preserving, and embracing, the amazing differences those cultures have to offer.

JessAnn Smith (she/her) is NYC-based performer, producer and teaching artist. She is originally from Seattle and went to acting school at the William Esper Studio. Her passions include coffee, traveling internationally & fantasy novels. She sings with the National Chorale at Lincoln Center, plays improv with Thank You For Coming Out and is also very active in developing work that serves her Jewish and LGBTQ+ communities.
JessAnn is left-handed, has performed all over the country (and beyond!) with choirs, comedy troupes and one-person shows, is a trained dog handler, marksperson and equestrian, and really just wants to make everyone cappuccinos and feed them. Rachel Oshrin is an NYC-based actor, stage manager, and educator. She has a degree in Theatre (Acting & Stage Management) from Muhlenberg College, and a love for Jewish education from many, many years at summer camp.
